Bra Sizing: A Worldwide Dance of Numbers and Cups
Bra Sizing: A Worldwide Dance of Numbers and Cups
¡Hola, mis amigas bellas! 🌍💃
Just as our world is a vibrant mix of languages, colors, and cultures, so are the ways we define our bra sizes. While music is a universal language, the rhythm and tempo differ across borders. Similarly, bra sizing can vary wildly from one region to another, but the goal is the same: finding that perfect harmony of fit and comfort. Ready for a little global tour? ¡Vamos!
1. Understanding the Basics:
Every region has a unique system, typically a combination of band size (representing the under-bust measurement) and cup size. Remember, while the sizes may sound different, they're just regional variations aiming to get you the best fit.
2. UK 🇬🇧:
Our British sisters measure their band size in inches, much like the US. However, their cup progression is slightly different. After 'DD', they move to 'E' rather than 'DDD' or 'F'.
3. US 🇺🇸:
We, in the states, have band sizes in even numbers and cups that progress from A, B, C, to D, and then can move to DD, DDD, and so on.
4. Europe 🇪🇺:
European sizes measure the band in centimeters. Also, their cup progression can be more straightforward than in the UK and US. For instance, what's a 'D' in the US might be a 'C' in Europe.
5. France & Belgium 🇫🇷:
Our French amigas also use centimeters for band size but typically start at 80 (equivalent to the US 36). Their cup progression is consistent, but remember, the band size might be different by about 15 units!
6. Italy 🇮🇹:
Much like their French neighbors, Italians use centimeters. However, they start their count differently, with 0 being equivalent to the US 32.
7. Australia 🇦🇺:
Down under, band sizes are similar to the US system, but the cup sizes might vary. For example, what’s a 'D' in the US could be labeled as a 'DD' in Australia.
8. Japan 🇯🇵:
Japanese sizing is unique. The band size is in centimeters, and cups sizes often don’t go beyond E, but the increments are more frequent. An American 'D' might be an 'E' in Japan.
Finding Your Global Fit:
While these sizes might sound confusing, think of them as regional dance moves. A salsa step in Mexico might look different from a tango step in Argentina, but they’re both beautiful dances. Always check the sizing chart and guides specific to the brand or country when shopping from international brands.
Empowerment Tip: Just as we celebrate cultural diversity and the beauty of different languages, let’s embrace the varied bra sizing systems. It's a wonderful reminder of our global sisterhood!
Keep dancing, keep shining, and remember, no matter the size or the country, it's all about how YOU feel in it. On my next post you will find the Bra equivalent charts for the most used around the world.
Hasta luego, and happy bra shopping around the world! 🌎✨
Con todo mi cariño,
